Quête des origines, histoire d’un peuple opprimé et d’un héros (extra)ordinaire, installation danse, conte autobio-philosophique et sonore, EESTI: Myths and Machines du chorégraphe-interprète Peter Trosztmer est tout cela à la fois. Une pièce magnifique, mon coup de cœur de l’automne. Le solo présenté par Tangente à la petite salle de l’Usine C s’avère un bijou de composition. La danse, le texte, l’environnement sonore et visuel se font écho avec une rare cohérence et une grande poésie.

There are those rare performances that fill you up so that you’re brimming, stoked by the integrity of the work, or perhaps elated with a feeling of reflection. Such is the case with Peter Trosztmer’s EESTI: Myths and Machines (Eesti is the Estonian for Estonia). It’s easily one of the best productions of the year.
Trosztmer achieves creates a new standard for the way in which narrative in dance is delivered. It’s intentionally unconventional, expertly assured and with a clear sense of rhythm and tempo. The humanity of the stories is ever-present in Trosztmer’s easy, focussed physicality
